Why is India still a developing country and not a developed country?
What is stopping it from being a developed country? These are some of
the common questions that we often encounter after switching on our
television sets. Moreover in social networking sites, people are
creating community pages to discuss these issues. The really critical
aspect of Indian public education system is its low quality. The actual
load of schooling that children experience and the quality of teaching
that they receive are extremely insufficient in Government schools. A
common feature in all government schools is the poor quality of
education, with poor infrastructure and inadequate academic attention.
The basic purpose of education is to create human capital. Nothing can
be more beneficial for the country than its human resource. The
Government is yet to realize this need. It is true that students are
getting a higher percentage of marks, irrespective of whether they
studied in government schools or in private schools; but there is a huge
difference between getting good marks, and being a productive and
creative human being. The Government needs to emphasize on imparting
education that is more practical based and that can lead the students in
their field of interest.
By implementing such an education system, the Government can ensure a
productive group of human resource. It is not about higher education
only, but also about ensuring a sound educational foundation to the
students across the country. Thus the nursery and primary level
education should be child friendly. It should be modeled to sharp the
innate qualities and creativity of the students so that they can use it
in the later life. A student may not be good in scientific theories, but
may have a knack for literary aspects.
So we should encourage them according to their field of interest. There
